Raymond obtained a BA in sociology from SFU in 2015 after moving from the Philippines. Volunteering with Access Pro Bono and Amici Curiae Friends of Court sparked his interest in law. In 2018 he completed the paralegal program at Capilano University before working on both plaintiff and defence sides of personal injury law.

Raymond obtained his master's in counselling psychology in 2026 and he is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) in addition to his paralegal work. For recreation he enjoys travelling, writing music, and playing his guitar.
