Ellie is a Vancouver-based family and estate lawyer, licensed in both Canada and Iran. Before joining Carraig Law, Ellie worked at a downtown Vancouver family law firm, where she gained experience handling complex property division cases involving trusts and corporate interests. She previously practiced family law for over five years in Iran before relocating to Canada.
Ellie received her Canadian law degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia and completed her articles with WorkSafeBC before being called to the Bar in British Columbia. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tehran (with distinction) and a Master’s degree in International Law from Leiden University, in the Netherlands.
Ellie is a strategic advocate who prioritizes practical settlement solutions, but does not hesitate to litigate when it serves her clients’ interests. Her practice covers all areas of family law, including parenting time, protection orders, property division, and support matters. In estate planning, she assists clients with preparation of Wills and advance planning documents and manages a variety of estate matters, such as common law spouse disputes, wills variation claims, and conflicts with executors and administrators.
She is fluent in English and Persian (Farsi) and provides legal services in both languages.
Outside of her legal practice, Ellie enjoys playing tennis, cycling along Vancouver’s seawall, and traveling to explore diverse cultures and cuisines.
