Dermot Devine

Managing Partner

Dermot Devine advises clients in the areas of Family Law, General Litigation, and Insurance Defence. He is an experienced trial lawyer and has appeared in the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, and Provincial Court of BC. An accredited Family Law Mediator since 2016, Dermot helps clients through the litigation process with sound, strategic, and tailored advice. Dermot was born and raised in Tír Eoghain, Ireland. He read law at Queen’s University Belfast and has studied in the USA and China. Since qualifying as a barrister and solicitor in 2014, he practiced in boutique litigation firms in Vancouver before starting Carraig Law Group in 2021. In the community, Dermot is passionate about electoral reform, and he has volunteered for Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver. Outside of the office, Dermot enjoys playing snooker, blues guitar, and brushing up on his Mandarin Chinese and Gaelic language skills.
